Chairperson of the Nepal Communist Party and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has accused the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) of misleading the public through what he described as “social media stunts.”

Speaking at a unification announcement program between the Nepal Communist Party and pro-unity factions of the Revolutionary Communist Party, Nepal, held in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Dahal claimed that the RSP lacks ideology and principles and relies solely on social media theatrics during elections.

He said that merely “ringing a bell” would not bring about meaningful change in the country, urging all leftist forces to unite for the nation’s and people’s welfare. Dahal emphasized that only a unified left movement could serve the interests of the country and its citizens.

“Nothing will be achieved by ringing a bell alone,” Dahal said. “What we are seeing now is an ideological vacuum, a lack of principles, and attempts to manipulate people’s minds through social media stunts. This can only be countered through unity. I urge both young and veteran comrades to come together and build a grand socialist structure that can truly serve the nation and its people.”

Dahal also said that Mohan Baidya ‘Kiran’ would be welcomed with due respect if he chose to join his party.
