The Kaski District Court has extended the judicial custody of RSP President Rabi Lamichhane for four more days. Lamichhane faces allegations of embezzlement related to the Suryadarshan Savings and Credit Cooperative, organized crime, and money laundering.
Arrested on October 18, Lamichhane has been in the custody till the date. His detention has been extended several times by the district court. The District Government Attorney Office in Kaski is preparing to file a case following the submission of an investigation report by Kaski Police.
The report recommends prosecuting 51 individuals, including Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane, former DIG Chhabi Lal Joshi, Ram Prasad Khanal, and Lila Pachhai. The charges involve embezzlement of cooperative savings, organized crime, and money laundering.
While some of the accused have been released on bail or are currently in custody, many remain absconding.
