After nearly two weeks of intense military conflict, a sense of calm is slowly returning to both Iran and Israel. The 12-day war, which saw heavy involvement from the United States, has come to a halt following a ceasefire agreement brokered with the active efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump. According to international news agency AFP, the situation on the ground is beginning to stabilize.

Both nations have shown support for the ceasefire, raising hopes that the worst may now be over. Israel has claimed that it inflicted serious damage on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, suggesting this could delay Iran’s nuclear program by several years. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed the development as a “historic victory” for his country.

On the other side, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized Iran’s right to peaceful use of nuclear energy and reaffirmed his commitment to diplomatic solutions. Internet services in Iran, which had been restricted during the conflict, are gradually being restored.

The human cost of the war has been painful. Iran’s Health Ministry confirmed that 610 civilians lost their lives. Israel also reported the deaths of 28 of its citizens due to Iranian attacks.

CNN has reported that President Trump is preparing to hold talks with Iran next week regarding the damaged nuclear facilities, signaling a possible step toward long-term peace and dialogue.
