Local authorities in Rasuwa have asked people living near rivers and streams to stay alert, following reports of heavy rainfall in Tibet, China. The rain is expected to raise water levels in rivers that flow into Nepal, including the Bhotekoshi River and Lhende River.
According to Rasuwa’s Chief District Officer, Arjun Paudel, Chinese officials in Keyrong have warned of heavy rain in the region and advised caution. This rainfall could lead to a sudden increase in water flow into Nepal’s northern districts.
