Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Ikuyuna Aki, who is currently in Nepal for the Sagarmatha Dialogue, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
During the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, PM Oli remarked that Nepal and Japan share a problem-free and friendly relationship. He thanked the Deputy Minister Aki for representing the Japanese government at the Sagarmatha Dialogue, emphasizing that climate change is one of the most pressing global issues of the time.
PM Oli also expressed hope that Japan’s experience in building resilient infrastructure, promoting environmental sustainability and reducing disaster risks would be valuable for Nepal.
In response, Deputy Minister Aki reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to continue its support to Nepal in areas like economic development, education, human resource enhancement, environmental and cultural preservation through both multilateral and technical cooperation.
