The Ministry of Home Affairs has arranged helicopters to carry ballot boxes to remote and hard-to-reach areas for the elections taking place tomorrow, March 5.
Information Officer Rama Acharya Subedi said that helicopters will be used in Himalayan districts and other places where there are no road connections. This is to make sure that ballot boxes reach every polling station on time.
“We have kept helicopters ready. The number of helicopters used will depend on the need on election day. Ballot boxes will be delivered directly to district headquarters, even from the most remote areas,” Subedi told Khabarhub.
This step has been taken to ensure smooth voting across the country, especially in difficult terrain, and to safely bring the ballot boxes back to district centers on the same day.
