Continuous rainfall since last night has caused a landslide that blocked the Bhumbre–Hatemalochok road, a vital route connecting Syangja and southern Parbat districts.

According to Bodhraj Kunwar, the ward chair of Waling Municipality-14, the landslide hit near Dumre Bhanjyang, bringing down large rocks and debris that completely obstructed the road.

As debris keeps falling due to ongoing rain, vehicles have come to a halt, and many passengers are stranded.

An excavator has been sent to the site, and efforts to clear the road are underway. However, officials say it might take time because of the scale of the landslide.

Until the road is cleared, travelers are being advised to take the Dumrebhanjyang–Dhikidanda–Tamadi route as an alternative.

This road is known to be highly landslide-prone during the monsoon and plays a crucial role in connecting local communities and transporting goods between southern Parbat and the Siddhartha Highway.
