The government has reiterated its commitment to addressing the concerns raised by Gen Z leaders, according to Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal.
During an interaction held at Singha Durbar on Sunday, Minister Aryal affirmed that the administration formed in the aftermath of the Gen Z movement would uphold the spirit of youth-led reforms. He emphasized that the Home Ministry and its subordinate agencies are working in full coordination to respond to genuine demands.
The meeting was attended by Police Chief Dan Bahadur Karki, Home Secretary Rameshwor Dangal, Attorney General Sabita Bhandari, and officials from the ministry’s peace and security division.
Gen Z representatives urged the government to ensure that protestors are not criminalized, noting that several youths involved in nationwide demonstrations were arrested and some still face legal cases.
Minister Aryal clarified that government actions are guided by a broader perspective and urged youths to cooperate with law enforcement as long as they are not involved in any unlawful activities.
