Minister for Land Management, Cooperative, and Poverty Alleviation Balaram Adhikari has announced that the government is actively working to provide land ownership documents to landless people as soon as possible.
Speaking at a meeting with members of the Land Related Problem Resolution Commission and cooperative campaigners in Sindhulimadhi, Minister Adhikari stated that the government is committed to managing landless Dalits, squatters, and unorganized settlements.
He urged the commission members in Sindhuli to speed up the process of distributing land ownership documents to those in need. He also mentioned that legal obstacles are being addressed, with an ordinance introduced to resolve legal gaps.
Additionally, Minister Adhikari called on the commission to work transparently and dispel any misconceptions about its role. He clarified that the commission’s purpose is not to clear forests or claim new land but to identify safe locations for settlement.
