Government Replaces Home Secretary Amid Gen-Z Suppression Allegations

The government has removed Gokarnamani Duwadi from the post of Home Secretary and appointed Rameshwor Dangal, the current Defense Secretary, as his replacement.

Duwadi, accused of involvement in the suppression of the recent Gen-Z protests, has been reassigned to the National Planning Commission Secretariat.

Sources at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers said the decision will take effect by Tuesday or Wednesday.

Duwadi had previously been linked to the visit visa scandal but was spared action at the time. He had been serving as Home Secretary for only about ten days before the government reshuffle.

The transfer comes amid mounting political and public pressure to investigate the Home Ministry’s role in handling the Gen-Z demonstrations.
