Engineer Hitendra Dev Shakya Transferred to Water and Energy Commission

The government has transferred Engineer Hitendra Dev Shakya to the Water and Energy Commission with a monthly salary of Rs 294,920 and other benefits.

Shakya, who previously served as the Executive Director of the authority, was appointed to the Commission in the “Special Category” position during the last cabinet meeting. Sources from the Ministry of Energy stated that Shakya will serve as a “technical member” equivalent to a secretary, retaining the benefits he received as Executive Director.

Earlier, the cabinet had appointed Shakya as Executive Director on Chaitra 11, replacing the former director Kulman Ghising, which had stirred controversy. Shakya’s previous role has now been filled by former Deputy Executive Director Manoj Silwal.
