With a growing focus on environmental protection and infrastructure, the government has allocated Rs 3.42 billion in the upcoming fiscal year's budget to clean major rivers and upgrade corridor roads in the Kathmandu Valley.

Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh shared this during a tree plantation program at the Bagmati Corridor in Gokarneshwor-5. He emphasized that rivers like Bagmati, Bishnumati, and Dhobi Khola will be made free of sewage and waste, calling on communities to actively participate in the mission to restore and protect nature.

Local leaders welcomed the initiative. Gokarneshwor Mayor Deepak Risal expressed gratitude, noting that over Rs 400 million has been provided for development projects in the municipality. Similarly, MP Santosh Chalise highlighted that several key projects in the Valley have been prioritized in this year’s budget.
