Talks are ongoing between the government and protesting public transport operators. The discussion began on Monday morning at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Singha Durbar, led by Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, according to the Minister’s Secretariat.

Public transport operators have parked their vehicles in garages and launched a protest. As a result, people across the country are facing transportation problems.

According to the Federation of Nepal National Transport Entrepreneurs, the protest was called by the "Public Transport Protection Central Struggle Committee," leading to vehicles being taken off the roads nationwide.

The main demand of the transport operators is to cancel the new ride-sharing law introduced by the Gandaki Province government. They say the law allows private vehicles to be used for commercial purposes, which is harming the public transport business.
