Russia and Ukraine have agreed to exchange some prisoners during their second peace meeting.

The meeting was held in Istanbul, Turkey, and lasted about one and a half hours. Both sides agreed to exchange all sick and seriously injured prisoners, and also prisoners under the age of 25. They also promised to return the bodies of about 12,000 dead soldiers to each other.

However, they could not agree on a ceasefire. The Ukrainian team said that Russia refused to talk about stopping the war.

Turkey’s Foreign Minister, who helped with the talks, said they discussed many important points related to the prisoner exchange.

In their first meeting on May 16, Russia and Ukraine had already exchanged more than 1,000 prisoners.
