Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, has assured that the government has no intention of removing Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Managing Director Kulman Ghising from his position.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Fourth Dumre Cultural and Trade Festival in Tanahun, Khadka assured that the government does not intend to remove any official without a valid reason. He emphasized that those contributing to the NEA’s success will be recognized, while those engaging in misconduct will be held accountable.

Addressing concerns over Ghising’s recent performance evaluation, where he scored zero, Khadka explained that it was due to the failure to submit his work performance report on time. Drawing an analogy to student exams, he said, “Just as students receive zero marks if they miss an exam, Ghising was unable to secure marks because his report was not submitted.”

Apart from addressing the NEA issue, Minister Khadka also highlighted the importance of energy and water resource development in driving Nepal’s prosperity. He noted that festivals like the Dumre Cultural and Trade Festival contribute to boosting local trade and tourism, further supporting economic growth.
