Leader of the Gen Z movement, Sudan Gurung, has criticized Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, accusing the government of selective action in the recent arrests of activists.

Gurung questioned why Dr. Nicholous Bhusal was arrested for his remarks while Mahesh Basnet, who made similar statements, faced no action. He alleged that the government was showing favoritism toward influential figures, continuing the trend seen during the Oli administration.

In a Facebook post, Gurung wrote, “Home Minister, what difference do you see between the statements of Nicholous Bhusal and Mahesh Basnet? Why was only Nicholous arrested? Has the government now chosen to protect the powerful?”

He further expressed frustration, warning that such biased actions could weaken the Gen Z movement’s spirit and credibility.
