Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has alleged that last week’s Gen-Z demonstrations were deliberately disrupted by infiltrators who incited violence.

Breaking his silence on social media, Oli said the movement had originally been announced as peaceful, but “conspirators” turned it violent, resulting in the deaths of several youths. He insisted that the government had issued no orders for police to fire directly at protesters, adding that the use of automatic weapons “which are not part of the police arsenal” must be investigated.

Expressing grief over the fatalities, the UML chair extended condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
