Election Commission to Allow Two Days for Parties to Submit Proportional Representation Lists

The Election Commission is preparing to grant political parties two days to submit their closed lists of candidates under the proportional representation (PR) system for the upcoming House of Representatives election.

According to the preliminary election schedule prepared by the commission, parties will be able to submit their PR lists on Poush 18 and 19. The commission has also stated that it reserves the right to make necessary amendments to the schedule if required.

Meanwhile, political parties have already started the process of selecting candidates for the PR category as part of their election preparations. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has formally announced a call for applications for proportional representation seats through an official statement.

The RSP said it has set internal criteria for the selection process and will choose qualified candidates based on those standards.
