With just 79 days remaining for the House of Representatives (HoR) elections, the Election Commission (EC) has ramped up preparations for a smooth voting process.
Out of 114 political parties registered under the first-past-the-post system, 100 have applied to participate in the proportional representation (PR) system.
The deadline for PR submissions was set for March 5, and the EC has already allotted election symbols to qualifying parties. The 275-member House of Representatives will see 165 members elected directly, while the remaining 110 will be chosen through the PR system.
The commission has emphasized timely compliance and readiness to ensure a transparent electoral process.
