The Election Commission has stepped up the distribution of ballot papers and other election materials across the country. So far, ballot papers have been sent to Sudurpaschim, Karnali and Koshi provinces.
Distribution is also ongoing in the remaining provinces. The Commission has finished printing ballot papers for the House of Representatives elections under both the first-past-the-post (FPTP) and proportional representation (PR) systems.
Under the FPTP system, 20,323,000 ballot papers have been printed, packed and delivered to 165 constituencies in all 77 districts.
Ballot papers and other election materials are also being regularly sent to Bagmati and other provinces. The Commission said distribution is taking place nationwide and materials will soon be delivered to polling stations in Kathmandu.
Apart from ballot papers, the Commission has already completed the transportation of 51 types of other election materials.
According to the schedule, printing of sample ballot papers for voter education began on January 22 in Sanothimi, and 1,098,200 copies have been printed. In addition, 20,830,000 proportional representation ballot papers have also been printed.
