Nepali Congress President and House of Representatives candidate from Sarlahi Constituency-4, Gagan Thapa, has promised voters that they will no longer need to chase their elected representative after elections, vowing to remain directly accessible.

During door-to-door campaigning in Bhagwatipur and Simara, locals complained that candidates seek votes during elections but fail to return afterward. In response, Thapa committed to establishing a permanent contact office in Sarlahi-4 with a dedicated team to address public concerns.

He said effective national leadership requires understanding Madhes as much as Kathmandu and the hills. “I have come to Madhes to understand it and to work for it,” he stated.

Thapa also pledged that under a Congress-led government, citizens would not have to pay out-of-pocket for hospital treatment. He added that he has already discussed sugarcane farmers’ issues with the Prime Minister and taken responsibility for resolving them.

Reiterating his development agenda, Thapa said plans are underway to establish an engineering college and a kidney treatment center in Sarlahi-4. Urging voters to support him until election day, he said, “Give me the opportunity to work, and after the 21st, I will take responsibility for you.”
