Nepali Congress leader and candidate from Morang Constituency No. 3, Dr. Sunil Sharma, has appealed to voters to elect him with 70,000 votes.
Recalling that the people of Morang-3 had given him the third-highest number of votes in the previous election, Sharma said he is confident of securing the highest vote count in the upcoming polls. He stated that receiving the highest number of votes would make his voice stronger in Parliament, and that voice would carry significance both nationally and internationally.
Taking a swipe at new political parties, he said the country is currently facing a kind of “corona virus” in politics, and winning with the highest number of votes even in such a situation would carry special meaning. He added that a lawmaker elected with 70,000 votes would have greater influence in policy-making and make it easier to raise public issues effectively.
He said, “I urge the people of this constituency to send me to Parliament with more than 70,000 votes. In this storm of confusion, a Member of Parliament elected with the highest number of votes in Nepal holds a distinct importance. This too is a kind of pandemic, mud corona, bell corona, all sorts of corona, even the corona of looting by leaders. If you elect me with the highest number of votes even during this pandemic, its significance will be special. With over 70,000 votes, when I speak from the rostrum, I can shake the country, change laws in favor of the people, and make the voice of Constituency No. 3 strong and influential in policy-making.”
Leader Sharma also stressed that it is necessary to make Nepal a country of peace.
