Responding to recent incidents of unrest and insecurity, the CPN-UML on Thursday launched the National Volunteer Force (NVF) to support public safety and strengthen party leadership.
Ahead of the formal announcement, youth affiliated with the party held a rally led by Madhesh Basnet and Youth Union President Kshitij Thebe. The official NVF unveiling will take place at Karki Banquet, Babermahal, with party chairman KP Sharma Oli presiding over the event.
According to the party, the NVF will assist security agencies, help maintain law and order, and provide relief during natural disasters, aiming to restore public confidence after the September 8–9 unrest.
