During a meeting with Nepal’s Prime Minister, a Chinese delegation expressed strong support and best wishes for the success of the Sambaad.

A Chinese delegation under Xiao Qi, vice-chair of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress, met with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar on Thursday.
During the meeting, the Chinese side extended best wishes for the success of the upcoming Sagarmatha Sambaad starting on May 16 in Kathmandu. The delegation said China is ready to further strengthen the long-standing friendly relations between the two countries, recalling Prime Minister Oli’s official visit to China last December and describing it as a success.
The team reiterated China’s support for Nepal’s development and prosperity.
On his part, Prime Minister Oli said Nepal and China have enjoyed a long-standing, friendly and problem-free relationship. He praised China’s rapid development in technology and its growing influence in the world.
PM Oli also recalled the recent visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Nepal, calling it historic and multi-dimensional. He reaffirmed Nepal's strong commitment to the "one-China Policy" and stressed the need for both countries to move forward in implementing their cooperation agreements.
Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song, Nepal’s Ambassador to China Krishna Prasad Oli and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present at the meeting.
