Nepali Congress leader Min Bishwakarma has said that the party has not held any special convention.
Talking to reporters on Friday, after leaders close to Sher Bahadur Deuba submitted documents to the Election Commission, Bishwakarma said no general or special convention has taken place. He clarified that the party’s Central Working Committee has unanimously decided to hold the central convention on May 12, 13, and 14.
He added that all major leaders who contested in the 14th convention, including the then-elected party president, along with most Central Committee members, are still with Deuba.
Bishwakarma also accused some former leaders of spreading confusion by falsely claiming that the Central Working Committee has been changed. He said that more than 135 committee members fully support the decisions made during the 14th convention.
