Bhim Rawal, the former vice-chair of the CPN-UML who was expelled from the party, received a warm welcome in his home district of Achham. Supporters greeted him with music and the national flag in Safebagar.
After being removed from the party on December 26, Rawal announced the start of the "Motherland Awakening Campaign" at a press conference in Kathmandu. This is his first visit to Achham since his expulsion.
Supporters in Safebagar welcomed him with music, and videos of the event have been widely shared on social media.
Tapendra Rawal, one of his supporters, posted the video on Facebook, saying, “The people of Achham are awake; now it’s time to wake up the whole nation with the Motherland Awakening Campaign. Get ready, patriotic citizens.”
Rawal was also warmly received by supporters in Muja Bazaar, Ramaroshan Rural Municipality, in Achham.
