Bheri Hospital's Medical Store Catches Fire, Causing Closure of OPD

A fire at the medical store of the Nepalgunj-based Bheri Hospital has resulted in partial disruption of hospital services.

Birendra Bahadur Shah, chair of the hospital, told Nepal Verified News over the phone, citing preliminary estimates, that Saturday’s fire has caused losses worth about 30 million rupees. As the outpatients department (OPD) is close to the store, it also suffered damage in the fire that resulted from short circuit in fridges kept at the store, Shah said: All other services, except for the OPD, are continuing.

The hospital management has constituted a panel to investigate the incident and estimate the losses.
