Bangladesh has climbed to the top of the table in the ongoing Under-20 SAFF Women’s Championship after a solid 3–0 win over Bhutan. The match, held yesterday, marked Bangladesh’s fourth straight victory in the tournament. With this win, the team has now collected 12 points and taken back the top spot. Nepal, who also performed well in the championship, stands in second place with 9 points from the same number of matches.
In another development, the Bangladesh national football team is set to visit Nepal for two FIFA international friendly matches in September. The decision was officially made during a meeting of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) held yesterday. The matches will be played at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu.
Earlier, the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) had announced these matches through social media on Asar 23 (July 7). Around 10 days later, BFF also reached a formal decision to go ahead with the games, showing growing sporting ties between the two countries.
