Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak said that looking for an alternative to democracy would push the country into crisis.

Speaking at the first convention of the Sudurpaschim Law Society, he stressed that democracy has no substitute.

"The constitution itself guarantees democracy, and there is no alternative to it. Trying to replace democracy would only lead the country into another crisis. Any attacks against the constitution must be strongly resisted," he said.

He also clarified that amending the constitution is meant to improve it, not weaken it. He emphasized that no one has the right to make the constitution fail and that any activities against the system or the constitution will not be accepted.
