Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called on everyone to include yoga in their daily routine, saying it is not just a physical exercise but a scientific and multi-dimensional practice that benefits human life in many ways.

Speaking at the 11th International Yoga Day 2025 event organized in Lalitpur by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, PM Oli said yoga is important for personal well-being, world peace, and creating a prosperous and happy Nepal.

“Yoga is for discipline, good health, and inner peace,” he said, adding, “Nepali society today is suffering from a lack of discipline. Without discipline, we can’t concentrate, and without focus, yoga has no meaning. Real yoga means staying stable in good thoughts and actions.”

PM Oli emphasized that yoga is not just about building muscles or going to the gym, but about developing wisdom, self-control, and balance in life. “Healthy living is about balancing food, yoga, and rest,” he said.

He also stressed the need for chemical-free food for better health. “Yes, we need doctors and hospitals, but more than that, we need to prevent illnesses through yoga and meditation,” he added.

Talking about his vision for a “Healthy Nepal,” PM Oli reminded that the goal should be to reduce the number of patients, not just increase the number of doctors.

Highlighting values like non-violence, truth, and discipline, Oli said, “The world today needs peace, not violence. If everyone followed these principles, many problems could be solved.”

“Yoga connects us with our body, mind, and society. You don’t need to go anywhere special; you can practice it at home. Stay pure in your actions and thoughts, don’t be greedy for others’ property, and focus on living a happy, balanced life,” Oli said.

He encouraged everyone to embrace yoga for a healthier and more peaceful future, both for themselves and for society as a whole.
