Warren Buffett (94), one of the world’s most successful investors, has announced that he will step down as the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. According to the BBC, the billionaire made this announcement at the company’s annual meeting and said that Vice-chairman Greg Abel will take over the role by the end of this year.

Buffett turned Berkshire Hathaway from a failing textile company into a massive investment company. Today, its total value is nearly $1.16 trillion.

The company owns more than 60 businesses, including GEICO, Duracell and Dairy Queen. It also has big investments in companies like Apple, Coca-Cola, Bank of America and American Express.

According to Bloomberg, Buffett’s net worth is currently $154 billion, making him the fourth richest person in the world.
