With a Clear Roadmap, Let’s March Into a Great Future: PM Oli

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said there’s no reason why Nepal and the Nepalis should stay on in a state of indecision and perplexity in a rapidly-changing world.

These are the times when smaller countries are striving to protect their existence while bigger ones are trying to increase their dominance and make the most out of the situation, he said addressing the Himalayan Dialogue that began in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

Defense and security of our country, protection and promotion of our national interest, protection of our territories, our liberties, national independence and national self-esteem are our cherished goals, PM Oli said: Let’s move ahead with these priorities in mind.

Going beyond the national borders, he said: When we talk about international relations, international obligations also come. We have responsibilities toward humanity, toward the continued existence of the Earth as the living planet and toward the future.

He then went on to highlight the unique geography of Nepal, stating: Nepal is in the midst of the tropics of cancer and capricorn. This is where the clouds originating in the Bay of Bengal face the Himalayas and bring rain. This is where the hot winds coming from the southern regions cool off. So, Nepal is in a strategic place, naturally. The nature herself has designed in this place a recharging and cooling system, and a pollution-cleansing system.
