The Election Commission has kicked off the nationwide voter registration process for the upcoming House of Representatives election, scheduled for March 5, 2026.
Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said the process has seen strong public participation in recent weeks and will continue until November 16. Only citizens listed in the voter roll and turning 18 by March 4, 2026, will be eligible to vote.
The Commission has urged all eligible Nepalis with citizenship certificates to register before the deadline. High traffic on registration servers has caused some temporary delays for applicants.
Following the election, citizens who turn 16 and obtain a citizenship certificate will again be able to register for future elections, continuing the regular update of the voter list.
