The United States has asked India and Pakistan to stop attacking each other. US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said in a press conference that war does not solve anything.
She said the situation in the Middle East has already shown that violence, military actions, and war only make things worse. That’s why the U.S. wants the fighting to stop.
She also shared that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had phone conversations with Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
According to the BBC, Rubio asked both leaders to reduce tensions and end the violence. Earlier, US Vice President JD Vance also said that talks are the best way to solve such problems instead of war.
The US said it will encourage both countries to calm down but will not take part in the conflict. Instead, it will try to help find a peaceful solution through diplomacy.
