Transport entrepreneurs across the country have launched a protest with several demands to the government. On Sunday, protesters blocked the road by parking their vehicles near Babermahal bridge in Kathmandu, causing heavy traffic disruption.
The agitating transport entrepreneurs have announced that all public transportation, including long-distance and local services, will be halted starting Monday morning. The "Save Public Transport Committee" has declared an indefinite strike and has requested passengers to complete their travel by early Monday.
The protest was triggered after the Gandaki Province government officially recognized ride-sharing services. In response, transport entrepreneurs from Gandaki and other provinces have joined the movement, calling the decision unfair to traditional public transport operators.
