In a tragic incident, two Indian nationals lost their lives and another was kidnapped during a terrorist attack in Niger’s Dosso region on July 15. The Indian Embassy to Niger confirmed the incident through a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), expressing deep sorrow over the loss.
According to the Embassy, the attack happened in the western part of the country, which has seen increasing violence in recent times. The Indian mission has assured that it is working closely with local authorities to ensure the safe return of the kidnapped Indian and to bring the bodies of the deceased back to India as soon as possible.
The Embassy has also issued a strong advisory to all Indian citizens living in Niger, urging them to stay alert and take necessary precautions. “We are in constant touch with officials on the ground,” the statement added.
