Israeli ambassador pledges ongoing financial and moral support to families of Nepali students killed in Hamas terrorist attack.

The Israeli Ambassador to Nepal, Shmulik Arie Bass, has expressed his commitment to continue supporting the families of Nepalis who were killed in a terrorist attack in Israel.
Speaking at a reception on Thursday to mark Israel’s 77th Independence Day and the 65th anniversary of Nepal-Israel diplomatic relations, the ambassador paid tribute to the 10 Nepali students who lost their lives during the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, in southern Israel. The victims were in Israel under the "Learn and Earn" program.
He stated that Israel has been providing both financial and moral support to the families of the victims and will continue to do so. "Israel stands in solidarity with all those affected by the Hamas attack, including the Nepalis," he said.
Ambassador Bass also highlighted the strong and multi-dimensional relationship between Nepal and Israel, noting cooperation in areas such as education, agriculture, health, infrastructure, water resources, rural development, and security.
He said more than 4,000 Nepalis have received training from Israeli agricultural and educational institutions, and that Israel has played an important role in Nepal’s agricultural modernization and economic development. He also expressed Israel’s interest in expanding cooperation in information technology, communication, and cybersecurity.
Reaffirming Israel’s commitment to peace, development and friendship, the ambassador said that achieving lasting peace in the Middle East remains Israel’s main goal.
