Statements Continue in Suryadarshan Cooperative Fraud Case

The Kaski District Court is continuing to hear statements today in the Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud case. The District Government Attorney’s Office had earlier filed charges against the defendants, and the court began recording their statements on Monday under Judge Nitij Rai.

Former DIG and operator of Gorkha Media Network, Chhabilal Joshi, gave his testimony on the first day, which will continue today. After his statement, the court will hear from former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, among others.

Lamichhane, Joshi, and three other defendants appeared in court on Monday for their statement. Court Information Officer Suraj Adhikari stated that all statements are expected to be completed by Thursday, with bail hearings set to begin on Friday.

Decisions will be made on whether to release the accused on bail, under certain conditions, or keep them in custody 

The case involves charges against 63 individuals, including Lamichhane and Joshi, filed by the Kaski District Attorney’s Office.
