SpaceX is preparing for another test flight of its giant rocket, Starship, which is at the center of Elon Musk’s big dream to build a human settlement on Mars.
This test is getting extra attention because the last two test flights ended in explosions due to fires in the rocket.
The launch is scheduled for 6:30 PM local time today from SpaceX’s Starbase launch site in southern Texas. The Starship rocket is 123 meters tall, making it the biggest rocket ever built.
NASA also plans to use a version of Starship in its Artemis-3 mission, which aims to return Americans to the Moon.
During the last two tests, the upper part of the rocket exploded, and debris fell over the Caribbean islands, causing problems for air travel. Because of this, there’s now more pressure on SpaceX to make this test a success.
