The Speaker of the Parliament, Devaraj Ghimire, emphasized the need for effective coordination among the three branches of the state. Speaking at an interactive program held at Singhadarbar on Sunday, marking the Parliament Service Day, he made this statement.
He mentioned that the three key institutions of the country – the Legislature (Parliament), the Executive (Government), and the Judiciary (Supreme Court and other courts) – are theoretically independent and supreme in their respective domains.
He also shared his experience that sometimes there is a lack of coordination between the Government and the Parliament, which affects the functioning of both.
He pointed out tendencies where the government tries to bypass the Parliament, and Parliament sometimes acts in opposition to the government.
