A Russian drone attack has killed nine people in Ukraine after it struck a bus carrying workers in the city of Marhanets, located in the south-central part of the country. The incident happened on Wednesday morning, BBC reported.

At least 30 people were injured, and the number of victims may rise as more details come in. Photos from the scene show the bus severely damaged by the drone strike, with large holes torn through the vehicle.

This deadly attack happened just as leaders from the UK, France, Germany, the US, and Ukraine are gathering in London to discuss possible steps toward a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict.

The war began on February 24, 2022, when Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Since then, hundreds of thousands of people have been killed or injured on both sides.

Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a 30-hour ceasefire for Easter Sunday, and Ukraine agreed to match it. However, both countries later accused each other of violating the truce.

Last month, Russia presented a list of demands in response to a ceasefire deal that had been agreed upon by the US and Ukraine. Meanwhile, the US continues to hold separate talks with Russia, Ukraine, and European officials in hopes of finding a peaceful solution.
