Jagdish Kharel, the Member of Parliament elected from Lalitpur Constituency No. 2 representing the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has met the family of martyr Binod Maharjan, who was killed during the Gen Z movement on Bhadra 23 and 24.
On Tuesday, Kharel visited the family of the 34-year-old martyr from Patan Sundhara–Dupat, Ward No. 7 of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, and received blessings from them.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Kharel said that after being elected, he chose to visit Binod Maharjan’s home to seek blessings before going out to thank the general public. He stated that the people’s votes that elected him as a Member of Parliament were built upon the sacrifices made by the Gen Z movement.
“I came to Binod Maharjan’s house to receive blessings before going to thank the public after my election. I became a minister through the Gen Z people’s movement, and I contested the election as a candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party. It is on the foundation of the sacrifices made by Gen Z activists that the people voted and elected me as a Member of Parliament,” he said.
Kharel also said that the movement carried out by the martyrs and representatives of the Gen Z movement against corruption, and for employment and prosperity, is still incomplete. He claimed that the RSP-led government will now complete the unfinished revolution of the Gen Z movement.
“The martyrs and representatives of the Gen Z movement carried out the struggle against corruption and for employment and prosperity. They wanted to ensure a secure future within the country. That aspiration is still incomplete. To fulfill that unfinished revolution, the people across the country have given a two-thirds majority to the Rastriya Swatantra Party through their votes. They believe the country will now move toward a path of change,” he said.
