RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden gave a strong warning after RPP-Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa was arrested during a pro-monarchy rally on Sunday.

Speaking to protesters at Narayanchaur, Lingden said, “I’ve heard Kamal Thapa and others were arrested. I ask the government, the Home Minister, and the Police Chief—bring him here. If not, we will call people from all over the country. The real protest starts tomorrow.”

He warned that instead of gathering in one place, protests would happen in fifty different locations. If Thapa is not released, Lingden said there would be a complete shutdown of the Kathmandu Valley from Monday.

He added that the monarchy would not return through small, scattered rallies but through a strong, united national movement. “This is not weakness. This republic will fall one day. To the Prime Minister and republic supporters—if you wonder how the monarchy can return, we’ll show you,” Lingden said.
