Ravi Lamichhane Transferred to Pokhara After Statement in Chitwan

Ravi Lamichhane, the chairman of the National Independent Party (Raswpa), was brought to Pokhara last night.
After his statement was taken in Chitwan on Wednesday regarding the allegations of fraud at Sahara Cooperative, he was brought to Pokhara at around 3:30 AM. After his remand was extended, the police are preparing to take him to Parsa. On Wednesday afternoon, as Lamichhane was giving his statement, supporters of the National Independent Party in Chitwan held protests. There was a clash between the protesters and the police. Since further protests are expected today, Lamichhane was brought to Pokhara last night.
Arrest warrants have been issued for Lamichhane, former DIG Chhabilal Joshi, and 14 others from Parsa. They are under investigation for misusing funds from Sano Paila Cooperative. Millions of rupees from five cooperatives run by the GB Rai group had been diverted to Gorkha Media. Lamichhane, who was the managing director of Gorkha Media, used these funds, and he is now under investigation. After his arrest, Raswpa has accused the government of holding a grudge against him.
