In the Surydarshan Savings and Credit Cooperative case, National Independent Party Chairman Ravi Lamichhane has completed his statement. His questioning started on Thursday afternoon and ended on Friday.
Rajan Khanal, the chief registrar at Kaski District Court, said that three defendants' statements have been recorded so far. Lamichhane was questioned about charges of fraud, money laundering, and organized crime. He denied involvement and blamed Giteindra Rai for the fraud.
Along with Lamichhane, the statements of former DIG Chhabilal Joshi and Lila Pachaai have also been completed. Four more individuals still need to give their statements, including Ram Bahadur Khanal (Nature Herbs International), Krishna Bahadur Gurung (Surydarshan Cooperative), former MP Mina Gurung (ex-vice president of the cooperative), and former treasurer Arati Gurung. They are currently in police custody, and their statements will continue from Sunday.
The District Government Attorney’s Office has filed charges against Ravi, Chhavi, and 44 others. So far, the statements of three individuals have been completed.
