The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has proposed the formation of an investigation committee to address the ongoing issue related to the misuse of visit visas by Nepali migrant workers traveling abroad. This comes amid continued disruption in parliament, where opposition parties have been demanding accountability from the government.
The RSP submitted a 5-point proposal aimed at resolving the dispute. This includes the demand for a probe into how visit visas were misused, especially through the involvement of government officials and agents, and the resignation of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, who is under scrutiny.
For several days, opposition parties, including the Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Centre, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Unified Socialist, and RSP, have been obstructing parliamentary proceedings demanding a proper investigation into the matter.
Despite multiple rounds of discussions led by Speaker Devraj Ghimire between the ruling and opposition parties, no agreement has been reached so far.
