Rabi Lamichhane’s Court Statement on Fraud Charges Continues Today

Rabi Lamichhane, Chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)  will continue giving his statement at the Kaski District Court today.

His statement began yesterday afternoon in Judge Nitij Rai’s courtroom and lasted nearly three hours.The remaining part of his statement is scheduled for today.

Lamichhane has been charged with cooperative fraud, money laundering, and organized crime. The case, filed by the Kaski Government Attorney’s Office, involves accusations against 44 individuals, including Lamichhane, for cooperative fraud. Five others are listed for property confiscation related to the alleged crimes.

Lamichhane was brought to court on Monday and Tuesday, but his turn was delayed due to statements from other defendants. Former DIG Chhabilal Joshi completed his statement on Tuesday, followed by Lila Pachhai.

The court will decide whether Lamichhane and the other accused will be released on bail, face trial at a later date, or remain in custody.
