Rabi Lamichhane, the leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), who was arrested in connection with the Supreme Cooperative fraud and organized crime case, is scheduled to appear in the Rupandehi district court today (April 7).
Lamichhane was taken to Rupandehi on Saturday morning after the Tulsipur high court ordered his detention at the Tulsipur detention center. However, because of public holidays on Saturday and Sunday, he has been kept in the custody of the district police office in Rupandehi.
The police will now bring him before the court to complete the legal process before he is sent to detention.
Lamichhane was previously released on bail of Rs 10 million by the district court on January 26. He later filed a petition at the high court to revoke the bail order and be released on a regular date. The high court, however, canceled the previous decision, leading to his re-arrest.
