Stakeholders and affected residents have protested the prolonged delay in completing the Manohara Land Pooling Project, nearly 24 years after it was approved.
Gathering in front of the project office in Lokanthali on Friday, locals accused authorities of inefficiency and negligence. The Dishweshwori Manoharnagar Society said the project has stalled due to a lack of initiative from officials, and even decisions made by the project committee and municipality have not been implemented.
Protesters complained of unmanaged roads, lack of drinking water and electricity facilities, haphazard parking, and incomplete infrastructure. They also alleged that land was acquired but meaningful development has yet to take place.
Issuing a statement, the society warned that they would continue their protest until their demands, including proper infrastructure management, removal of illegal structures, and transparency in the project’s financial details, are addressed.
