Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Friday visited Pathibhara and Phungling in Taplejung to review preparations for the upcoming election and assess the situation in the Himalayan district.

 

After offering prayers at the Pathibhara temple, she interacted with locals and urged them to participate actively in the polls. Stating that the election is being held under special circumstances, she emphasized the need to conduct it peacefully and responsibly, calling it crucial for shaping the country’s future.

 

In Phungling, the Prime Minister held discussions with the Chief Returning Officer, Chief District Officer, and security chiefs regarding election readiness and security arrangements. Officials informed her that Taplejung has 90,327 voters and 82 polling stations, including four in remote Himalayan areas. While the security situation remains normal, snowfall could pose logistical challenges.

 

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Karki directed officials to ensure the election is conducted peacefully, securely, transparently, and efficiently.
